Officer Austin Cool is a security weapon specialist working on Talos I during Prey (2017).

Background[]
Austin Cool worked as security weapon specialist in Cargo Bay. During Typhon outbreak, Cool together with a group of survivors hide in the Cargo Bay.
Prey (2017)[]
Morgan Yu meets Cool while visiting the Cargo Bay for the first time. He asks Morgan to get up to the catwalk and meet other survivors. After Morgan reaches the door, Cool lets them in and leads them to other survivors. Along with Alfred Rose, Sam Hertz, Darcy Maddox, Tamiko Hayashi, Kevin Hague and Chief Elazar, Cool assists in the mission Cargo Bay Defenses.
If Morgan kills the two Phantoms and the Voltaic Phantom roaming Shipping and Receiving upon arriving in Cargo Bay, Cool will state his amazement and open the door for them. However, if Morgan suffers from a trauma, Cool will simply comment on it, stating that Morgan needs medical assistance, but will not open the door, even after Morgan heals their trauma.

Trivia[]
- Even if he survives Cargo Bay Defenses and Dahl's Ultimatum, there is chance that he will be dead in Life Support.
- On Xbox consoles, it seems that regardless of having killed all Phantoms in the area, Austin will usually not open the door for you due to a programming error. If this occurs, the only way to open it would be to obtain his keycard by incapacitating or killing him.
- He will also not open the door if a Typhon is knocked down by falling damage from a Lift Field.
