Planet Earth is the homeworld of the human race in Prey (2017). It is geographically identical to our own.
Morgan Yu's simulated commute from the opening of the game takes place in a city on Earth, thought to be San Francisco.
History[]
In the post credits sequence of Prey, it is revealed that Earth has been overwhelmed by a Typhon infestation. Alex Yu's feed shows the city from the opening engulfed in so much Coral, the night sky has been lit up with a golden color.
Mooncrash gives two possible explanations as to how the Typhon arrived, despite containment efforts on Talos I. In the Pytheas moon base simulation, a mind controlled Andrius Alekna has to carry a Mimic disguised as a nesting doll on board an escape pod bound for Earth. In the ending of the game, Peter crashes the KASMA satellite into Pytheas, and escapes via the shuttle in Crew Annex. Forgetting to kill the Mimic shown in the cargo hold (if the simulation is to be believed), it takes on the form of his daughter's doll and is seen twitching in the last shot of the beached shuttle.
