Prey Wiki

Doctor Eric Berger is a mechanical engineer working on Talos I during Prey (2017).

History[]

Background[]

At some point in time, Eric earner a doctorate from an unknown intitution. He was eventually hired by TranStar, ending up on Talos I, working as a Mechanical Engineer in Psychotronics. He would work on maintaining a subsection in the G.U.T.S. as well as likely the mechanical aspects of Psychotronics, receiving training for microgravity at some point. Eric eventually started a romantic relationship with Laurel Davis.

On October 1, 2033, he would conduct an inspection of the electrial subsections near Psychotronics, doing the same on November 23. On March 5, 2034, he would find that subsection 19 is faulty.

When TranStar celebrated the selling of 8,000 Neuromods, Eric let himself be implanted with a musical Neuromod, performing the song "Semi-Sacred Geometry" later on during the celebration in the Yellow Tulip along with Danielle Sho, Skye Braxton and Mike Devlin, playing either bass or the drums. Eventually, Eric began planning to propose to Laurel, writing down his ideas for a speech, though never finding the right words. He would also leave a gift for Laurel at her workstation.

As subsection 19 was still faulty, Eric requested replacements from Clive Lawrence. However, after the cargo transportation system in the G.U.T.S. stopped working, the parcel was stopped from arriving to Psychotronics. Eric called Ash Lasair, asking her about the problem. After she told him off, he decided to check out the problem on his own. Before setting out, he replied an email to Laurel, telling her to stay safe.

Prey (2017)[]

Following the outbreak at Talos I on February 23, 2035, Eric was in process of checking out the problem in G.U.T.S. just next to the entrance to the Psychotronics, when he was attacked and killed by a corrupted operator. Though he managed to destroy it, Berger died of his wound shortly after.

Morgan Yu finds Berger's corpse inside G.U.T.S. just pass the Psychotronics entry point. He carries an EMP Charge fabrication plan and one EMP Charge.
