Escape Through the Mimic Portal is an escape objective in Prey: Mooncrash.
Overview[]
I found a half-finished experiment in the Pytheas Labs. A mimic trapped in a containment device is triggering some kind of space-time anomaly I don't really understand. But whoever set this up believed they could get the mimic to open a portal to Earth. If I can get the machine fixed and finish the experiment, I can get off this moonbase.
Also - there are shoes everywhere.

- Repair the containment device door controls (Pytheas Labs)
- Hack workstation that controls the mimic experiment (Pytheas Labs)
- Stabilize the mimic portal (Pytheas Labs)
Walkthrough[]
This is the most involved escape method as it requires the player to have unlocked Joan Winslow and Claire Whitten already and to make sequential runs as both of these characters: to succeed, Joan must have Repair I-III (based on current corruption level) and five Spare Parts to fix the control panel on the side of the Mimic Portal, while Claire must have Hacking I-IV (based on current corruption level) to operate Chao Wei's computer.
Once these goals are achieved, Chao Wei's computer will remain unlocked and allow any following character to use the Mimic Portal: they simply have to stabilize the portal and get inside it within 30 seconds. Unlike Escape in the Mass Driver, the player can stabilize the portal multiple times without penalty.
