A GLOO Charge is grenade-type weapon found on Pytheas moon base during Prey: Mooncrash.
Overview[]
The GLOO Charge utilizes the same technology developed by TranStar for the GLOO Cannon - disabling and/or immobilizing targets without harming them - but targets a much larger area with a single detonation. As with the cannon, it can also extinguish flames, temporarily stop electric arcs, and creates climbable platforms.
The GLOO Charge appears to be a modified GLOO canister that can detonate either shortly after thrown, or when its motion sensors are triggered if it is affixed to a stationary surface. Its yield is around 58 GLOO balls, whereas normal GLOO canisters only contain 42.
Usage[]
Just like the GLOO Cannon, the GLOO Charge is extremely versatile. The Charge also gives an added bonus to operate it from a safe distance or lays traps. However, it is not as accurate as the GLOO cannon, as it is a grenade-type weapon.
The GLOO Charge can be used to mitigate intense fires which can break out in the different areas of Pytheas. In combat, they come as handy when facing a group of enemies in order to incapacitate most of them and to deal with those who escaped the GLOO. An example of this is a confrontation with a Telepath and its group of Mind-Controlled Humans, who can be GLOOed and killed or otherwise disabled without risking to be approached by one of them.
