"All right. Shit. (Deep Breath) Investigating cabin. I have a sidearm. If all clear I will attempt to EVA to an airlock."
Hunter Hale's last words. [src]

Hunter Hale is a pilot working on Talos I during Prey (2017).

History[]

Background[]

Hunter Hale worked as a pilot for the shuttle Exalt aboard Talos I. Alex Yu secretly tasked him with bringing V-110655-27, V-071855-21, V-060155-05, and V-011155-17, who were Earthbound after their service aboard Talos I, to the Psychotronics airlock, and was to be paid more than his usual salary for completing this task.

He was a skilled pilot, as Alex defended his decision to pay him higher salary than normal when Thomas Tucker questioned this decision. During the Typhon outbreak, Hale was in the process of completing Alex's task when his shuttle experienced system malfunctions. He asked flight engineer Galel Seif to lower the bridge, but doesn't get any response. Hale then hears strange noise in the cabin and asks for security detail.

Prey (2017)[]

Morgan Yu finds Hale's corpse in now derelict Exalt shuttle. He likely died due to decompression of the shuttle after a stowaway Mimic broke free and attacked the volunteers. Hale carries frayed wire, EMP Charge, Silenced Pistol, one 9mm bullet, and a TranScribe.

Developer Notes[]

"Hunter Hale is one of the pilots who works in the Shuttle Bay. Hunter typically transports 'Volunteers' and sales teams to earth and back. Alex recruited Hale to secretly transport some sets of Volunteers back to the psychotronics lab. The are the volunteers that are fed to mimics for replication and production of exotic materials. Hale was transporting a group of volunteers when the outbreak happened. As he swept around the moon and began making his way back to the station, toward Psychotronics, disaster struck. He tried contacting psychotronics, but no response. Then bridge, but no response. Then he contacted shuttle bay to come back for a landing. He was killed at that point by mimics aboard the ship."
