Spare Parts are items found in both Prey and Mooncrash. It is used to repair broken devices or items.
Overview[]
Spare parts are found all throughout Talos I and Pytheas. The Dismantle skill allows the player to harvest Spare Parts from destroyed Operators and by disassembling their own equipment, like:
- Any throwing weapon, Wrench, Silenced Pistol, Huntress Boltcaster, Disruptor = 1 spare part
- Shotgun, Artemis Golden Pistol = 2 spare part
- GLOO Cannon, Q-Beam = 3 spare part (Their production at the fabricator and subsequent disassembly is the cheapest way to obtain spare parts)
50 Spare Parts can be stacked in one inventory slot.
Spare Parts are useless without at least the Repair skill tier 1 installed. With Survival options enabled, Spare Parts are used in the inventory to repair weapons as they degrade from usage and environmental hazards.
Spare Parts can be used to repair:
- Turrets
- At Repair IV, Turrets' health can be fortified, which costs 4 Spare Parts.
- Grav Shafts require Repair level 1
- Fabricators
- Material Recyclers
- Broken Operators
- Electrical Junctions
- TranScribes
- Moon Door console
- Pytheas Command Modules
- Damaged weapons
In Mooncrash, Joan Winslow is the only playable character who have use of Spare parts since she is the only character with Repair and Dismantle in her Neuromod tree.
When recycled, one Spare Part yields 
0.30 Mineral material and 
0.30 Synthetic material. They can therefore be a valuable source of materials in a no-Neuromod walkthrough since they are quite common in the game.
