Superthermal is a Typhon ability gained through use of Neuromods in Prey (2017).
Overview[]
Superthermal creates a fiery proximity trap which, when triggered, creates a column of super-heated plasma dealing fire damage to anything nearby. Organic enemies(this includes regular Phantoms) will take continuous fire damage due to the burning effect. While it's classified as a "trap", you can still cast it at enemy's feet and it will detonate instantly, making it equally effective in normal combat. It is learned by researching Thermal Phantoms.
It costs 45 PSI to cast and has a cooldown of 6 seconds.

Gameplay Notes[]
At 2.77 damage/PSI Superthermal is the most PSI-efficient Energy power in the game - and that is not even including the extra damage from burning, which puts it above 3 damage/PSI. Its only downsides are that it doesn't work on Thermal Phantoms and that it can take some time to fully unlock.
